Corn in food..

 

Corn is cereal and vegetable fiber which is consumed all over world. It is rich in fiber that improves digestive system. Corn is also rich in vitamins like Vit C, Vit B and minerals like magnesium, potassium. It may also increase blood sugar and hence adding excessive corn in diet is observable.

In food:

·         Corn is used as a snack item. It can be fried in grill or boiled in water. Both the forms make corm palatable and delicious.

·         Apart from this, corn kernels can be added in making soups and also as a vegetable in various dishes like vegetable palav, salad, breakfast, pizza etc.

·         Kernels can be used in making popcorn in airtight containers.

·         Yet another scrumptious dish that can be prefer by anyone due to crunchy and crispy nature is corn vada..

Corn Vada:

Ingredients:  Corn, chili, onion, salt, pepper, ginger, oil

Chop onions, ginger and chilies

Separate corn kernels from corn cob

If cobs are fresh, prepare instantly. Otherwise soak in water for 6-9 hours

Take corn kernels, onion, ginger, chilies, pepper, and salt in blender

Blend the contents to obtain thick paste

Boil oil in high flame

Take a clean wet cloth in your left palm and spread some portion of thick paste as vada

Fry the vada in boiling oil till golden brown color

Serve hot
