Dreams are not which you see in sleep...but are which doesn't let you sleep...Its been two months since we conducted awareness program SWECHA. We tried to get permission form few orphanages but our attempts didn't find success as orphanages we contacted were either boy orphanages or orphanages with kids which didn't reach adolescent age. On one busiest day, i got reply as well as acceptance from care and share charitable trust, India. That day was first day of two days conference in my collage. On discussing from both ends, we scheduled fifth event of SWECHA, An awareness program on menstrual hygiene on Sunday 23, Feb 2020 at care and share charitable trust, buddavaram village, gannavaram mandal, Vijayawada.
Being project director of SWECHA, i planned to leave on early hours from bapatla. P. Lakshmi prasanna and Ch Ramya, my junior friends assisted and supported me and event by their gracious presence. We reached on time to our destination by bus and an auto. We waited in waiting hall of office room for a while only then my eyes fell on notice board which mentioned about our swecha. It made me realize how well organised the orphanage with kids from age 4 days yo 21 years leading life. Nigelmills, in charge of care and share gave opportunity and arranging everything from dias to audience i.e., our little QUEENS...
We went to care and share school building where meeting is arranged from care and share children village which is nothing but orphanage complex. While going we were introduced to foreign dental doctor Drhugo of care and share who complemented us for thought of SWECHA and he wanted to see our program too. With the positive energy we reached conference room facing our queens. Bhavani, care taker of home maintained discipline and assisted our event.
As talk started room was filled with giggles and murmurs as usual and soon it got settled. Our event moved with peace and pace matching girls interest and interaction. In middle of session Dr. Drhugo visited room and showed keen interest in listening to our program even though talk was in our mother tongue telugu. It was the biggest event as strength is around 270 who attended program. We brought sanitary napkins to donate as we used to do in every event. We are thankful to our donars who support us to reach many adolescent girls to inculcate period positivity.
After long time and everending efforts, event ended with girls smiles. On returning back we were appreciated by Dr. Dhrgo for our attempts. We were quite pleased to take a look by rounding entire care and share children village. When you fulfill your dream after a long waiting period, you will experience best happiness which is worthy for waiting. We share hygiene management tips with young girls as we care for next generation.
